Weekly Report: Relaxing Weekends
This past week has continued to see an improvement in my health, though, at the present time, I honestly cannot tell if I’m actually healed or headed in for another relapse. It’s a rather odd state to be in and I am not liking it. I did get to editing this past week, but not as much as I had the previous week. I’m up to Inquisitor and will be working on Jack and Kudzu Knights this week. Lost Child is a freebie in all of this. So I could get as far as Monster Mash if I work hard at it this week.
One thing that I’ve realized that I’m missing from my life is the day of rest. Where I just don’t do anything. For the last year, My weekends have felt as busy as my weekdays and I never find time to just relax. I need to make a point of doing that again. So this past weekend, I didn’t do any writing and skipped out on both weekend writing events here. I spent Saturday doing errands and then doing something fun.
The something fun was the Capilano Suspension Bridge. I’ve been there before, but it’s still fun to check it out. They have, as the name suggests, a Suspension Bridge. It’s anchored on either end by several ton blocks and it swings freely as you walk across it. The bridge is wide enough for three… maybe four people to stand side by side. And it’s over a gorge. And the water is really, really far down there. There is also a cliff walk, that has a narrow foot path that is anchored to one of the cliff faces on the gorge. They have a good amount of board walk to wander around in the rain forest area. Lastly, probably the most fun, is the tree top walk. It’s suspension bridges high in the trees between many of the trees. It’s like getting the tree top city you always wanted as a kid. Without the houses, and there’s a line of people behind you. But it’s still fun.

I still had to do things on Sunday – like cook lunch and dinners for the rest of the week. But other than that, I did as little as possible and enjoyed the relaxation. I felt incredibly refreshed for Monday.
